Special Representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Abashidze told RIA Novosti that, at the requests of Baku and Yerevan, he has permitted the use of Georgia’s airspace for Russian planes transporting peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh.

“At the requests of the Azerbaijani and Armenian parties, as an exception, upon an initial agreement, some peacekeepers of the Russian peacekeeping contingent will be transported to the conflict zone via Georgia’s airspace during a certain limited period. Our colleagues have been reported on this,” Abashidze said.
