Foreign Ministers of Russia and France Sergey Lavrov and Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Lavrov informed his counterpart about the mediation efforts that Russia made for complete cessation of all hostilities and fire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone starting from November 10.

“The major role of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group in the development of the baseline principles for the settlement of the conflict underlying the agreements referred to in the November 9, 2020 statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan was mentioned.

The foreign ministers of Russia and France exchanged views on the future possible steps within the scope of the joint efforts of the Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group that are aimed at improving the situation in the region and achieving a final political settlement of the conflict,” the press release reads.
