Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin lauds the constructive approach of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, as a result of which the emerging nuances and differences will be resolved through dialogue with Turkish counterparts, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, RIA Novosti reported.

"In the beginning, we [Russia and Turkey] had different views. Russia, the UN, the US, the [OSCE Minsk Group] Co-Chairs, France and other European countries support the absence of an alternative to a political and diplomatic settlement of the [Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict; we still support that view. Turkey has a different view, but the cooperation between Russia and Turkey has nevertheless shown its effectiveness in resolving various regional issues," Peskov said.

He stressed that Russia highly appreciates such cooperation as well as the level of mutual trust and cooperation. "You know that our President lauds also the constructive approach of his Turkish counterpart, President Erdogan; they continue the very close and substantive dialogue. But, of course, there are certain nuances in the approaches; the disagreements which we also take into account. We will settle [them] during the dialogue with our Turkish partners," the Russian presidential spokesman said, noting that the Kremlin was pleased that it became possible to sign the joint statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday night signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. According to the Russian leader, the Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces will remain in their positions, and Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
