The opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation-ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has issued a statement, which reads as follows:

"The statement signed by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on November 10, 2020 on the cessation of the war is nothing but a defeatist and humiliating document which is not only a great crime against the interests, desires and goals of the homeland and the whole Armenian nation, but also, it unequivocally endangers and violates the absolute right of the present and future generations of the Armenian people to live in an independent, secure and developing country, and to build a dignified future.

This condemnable and unacceptable document on the complete capitulation of Armenia and Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] has caused the revolt and anger of the Armenian people, the just demand of which is the removal—without shocks—of Nikol Pashinyan to salvage the situation.

Amid the popular uprising, the ruling regime has begun arresting opposition party leaders and other public figures in order to evade responsibility, extend its own rule, and forcibly silence the popular uprising.

Strongly condemning the illegal arrests, we assure that with such actions it is impossible to curb the just wave of popular protest and anger.

At the same time, we consider the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan from this office vital, in order to provide an opportunity to defend in a dignified manner the interests of the Republic of Armenia and of Artsakh, of the people in general, for the implementation of the steps envisaged by the trilateral statement, and the negotiations on the next stages of the settlement of the Artsakh issue in general.

The resignation of the Prime Minister will prove that he will subordinate his personal political ambition to the national-state interest. If the Prime Minister really signed the trilateral statement in order to save the remnants of the Homeland, by the same logic he should resign from his post, giving an opportunity to unite the whole national potential in the political field and get out of this situation. We warn the Prime Minister not to lead the country to destabilization by his violence, persecution and provocations. We call on our people to be vigilant and not to give in to provocations.

At least the Prime Minister himself knows very well the AR Dashnaktsutyun's non-negotiable unconditional devotion to the homeland, our readiness to express to the Prime Minister himself from the very first hours of the war, to put an end to all our differences and the commitment of the entire ARF structure to enlist in the Armenian Army, and that readiness and commitment in the following days, the fact of carrying out on the battlefield and at the internal and external platforms of the rear. We have informed the Prime Minister about it on different occasions during the whole war.

Finally, we appeal to our youth around the world not to despair, not to be disappointed, and not to lose hope. Our commitment to the protection of our national interests is complete, and with a long struggle, albeit sometimes unsuccessful, we will ultimately achieve our national goals.”

To note, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday night signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
