Russia didn’t leave Armenia and the Armenians alone. Russia put in all its efforts to settle the situation, using diplomacy, international law and the negotiation process, after which it transported its peacekeepers. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said today.

“Those who are 'screaming' louder than each other in the newspapers and on TV shows must remember that Russian peacekeepers are guaranteeing and ensuring the security, peace and future of the citizens and today’s residents of this region. This is about how sincerely interested Russia is in the stability in this region. It was all about the decision to send our peacekeepers there. Those who write such articles must understand why Russia took such a decision and how interested it is in peace and prosperity in this region, particularly in Armenia and Azerbaijan. To a great extent, this is an unprecedented decision, and sometimes I get the impression that many people don’t realize the scales of Russia’s decision,” she added.
