Russia’s Military Transport aviation has sent another 8 Il-76 planes with Russian peacekeepers from Ulyanovsk to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone for peacekeeping operations.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, there are over 10 trucks and logistics resources, as well as over 100 servicemen of peacekeeping units. They have landed at the airport in Armenia from where they will head to Nagorno-Karabakh.

In the past day, Russia has sent 20 Il-76 planes carrying 372 servicemen, 52 vehicles and pieces of special equipment.

There have been 56 flights transporting 817 servicemen and 119 units of arms and military equipment since the start of the peacekeeping operation.

Cooperation has been established with the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia and direct contacts have been established to implement the peacekeepers’ objectives, prevent possible incidents and ensure Russian servicemen’s security.

The National Defense Management Center of Russia is carrying out a number of actions to oversee the transfer and deployment of the Russian peacekeeping contingent to the designated areas.
