Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today chaired an enlarged consultation with government officials and heads of other government agencies, as reported the news service of the Government of Armenia.

The consultation began with a moment of silence to remember the Armenians who fell during the war. The Prime Minister stated that the aim of the consultation is to discuss the issues related to the Armenians who moved from Artsakh to Armenia during the war.

“We need to discuss the support programs that we will implement for them, but we also need to state that the primary objective is to make sure they receive the support in Artsakh,” the Prime Minister said.

The government officials reported that during the first days of the war, the process of organizing the activities for support to the Armenians of Artsakh was implemented in close cooperation with their partners from Artsakh and through direct coordination of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia. The works are aimed at solving the problems with shelter, food, children’s education, healthcare and other issues.

The officials also stated that some of the Artsakh-Armenians who moved to Armenia have been accommodated in citizens’ apartments, various state institutions, as well as hotels and guest houses, and the government envisages implementing a support program to pay their utility bills.

Prime Minister Pashinyan assigned to establish with the Government of Artsakh a task force that will deal with the mentioned issues and will make recommendations to solve the problems. The activities will be reported to the Prime Minister every week.
