In an interview with Armenian Public Television, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was asked what Armenia wants since there were points about the reopening of regional borders stated in the signed document, to which Pashinyan said Armenia wants to see the operation of the Armenia-Iran railway via Nakhchivan and the de-blockage of transport infrastructures.

“Armenia wants to have several roads leading to Russia. For instance, if we can meet our objectives after negotiations, you can imagine the major changes that can take place in Armenia. If the railway eventually becomes a real factor for the country, it will link Armenia to the Persian Gulf and Russia. These are also goals that may be or may not be accomplished through the document,” the Prime Minister said.

Asked if there is an initial agreement, Pashinyan said the following: “There is understanding, not an initial agreement. We understand that if this is formulated in the document, then there is an understanding, but it’s clear that this is a matter of negotiations that need to take place.”
