A petition for the arrest of the former deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia from the Republican Party Vahram Baghdasaryan has been submitted to the court, Baghdasaryan's lawyer Vahagn Gasparyan told reporters on Sunday.
“If participation or organization of rallies is the usurpation of power, preparation for the murder of a representative of the government, then I have nothing to say, there is no such justification in jurisprudence,” he said.
The lawyer noted that Baghdasaryan was detained for acquiring and storing weapons and ammunition.
“A search was carried out in Baghdasaryan’s house, his house has a legal weapon received on his birthday, and he was detained because of this. At the moment, this part has been dropped from the charges,” he said.
The lawyer noted that since they submitted a motion for arrest, the meeting was postponed and scheduled for 6:30 pm.
