The Russian Defense Ministry has announced the transfer of the peacekeeping brigade's engineering troops, special equipment, and mechanisms to Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] from Ulyanovsk Vostochny Airport—and on board military transport planes; this is noted in a statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday.

"The sappers will carry out engineering reconnaissance, site, road and facility demining, as well as preparation and maintenance of supply and evacuation routes, water purification, and other engineering tasks," the statement added in particular.

Also, service dogs will be deployed to search for and detect explosives.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
