Ruben Rubinyan, member of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia and chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, qualified as disinformation some statements of the members of the opposition factions.

"In the signed statement there is no reference to Meghri [city], or Syunik Province, or any overpass, especially with Turkish and Azerbaijani flags. There was no moment during the [recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war when it was possible to stop the war on better terms and it was not done; this is disinformation," Rubinyan stated from the NA rostrum, but the opposition MPs countered, saying that it had happened.

Also, Ruben Rubinyan accused the opposition lawmakers of capitalizing on the current pain of the Armenian people, but the opposition MPs expressed against this statement, too.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
