Armenians are still being captured, even after the signing of the trilateral statement. This is what leader of Bright Armenia opposition party Edmon Marukyan said during today’s parliamentary session and reminded about the ten citizens of Armenia missing in the Goris-Shushi road sector in regard to whom Armenia has addressed the European Court of Human Rights.

Moreover, he said the parliament is the only body that stands above the Prime Minister of the country.

“The parliament must consider the trilateral statement and inform that since the points in the signed statement have already been violated, Armenia, for instance, must reserve itself the right to review the expediency of exiting the Lachin corridor,” Marukyan said and recommended that the ruling My Step bloc convene a special session to discuss observance of the points in the statement and the lawfulness of the statement.

“Seven days have passed since the signing of the statement, and there are already thousands of violations. I believe the parliament can adopt a statement and launch processes arising from that. Azerbaijanis have captured people. There is information according to which sabotage groups have been infiltrating into Karvachar over the past two days. This is a violation that needs to be considered,” Marukyan said.

The deputies of the Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia opposition parties boycotted the agenda for today’s parliamentary session and demonstratively left the sessions hall. They are particularly demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and insisting on the convocation of a special session.
