Escorted by Russian peacekeepers, over 500 Armenian refugees have returned to Stepanakert.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on November 17, 502 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from the Republic of Armenia. The 24 buses headed from Yerevan to the main square in Stepanakert, escorted by the Russian peacekeeping contingent and military police.
The safe return of the refugees and the peaceful civilians’ movement along the line of contact are under the supervision of the Interdepartmental Center for Humanitarian Response. Russian servicemen ensured movement of the buses with peaceful civilians along the length of the line of contact.
Based on the information of the Ministry of Defense, since November 14, more than 1,700 residents have already returned to Stepanakert after having left their homes.
