Moscow expects that the ongoing protests in Armenia will not destabilize the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], and will not jeopardize the implementation of the provisions of the agreement on the region signed between the leaders of the three countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told reporters on Wednesday, according to RIA Novosti.

"We hope that the events in Armenia will not lead to a destabilization of the situation, which will jeopardize the signed statement, too" Rudenko said.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.

And Armenia’s political opposition is holding protests against the aforesaid statement.
