Artsakh emergency service: Capital Stepanakert, other settlements will be restored quickly (PHOTOS)

The capital Stepanakert and other settlements affected by the war will be restored in a short period of time, the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) State Service for Emergency Situations reported Thursday morning.

The respective practical and clear steps are being taken by both Artsakh and Russia.

Six such working groups were set up Wednesday. They are carrying out damage assessment and inventory in Stepanakert, regional centers, and rural communities, and this will be immediately followed by active construction.

These working groups comprise rescue workers from the Artsakh State Service for Emergency Situations and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as representatives from the Artsakh Ministry of Urban Development and those from the Stepanakert city hall in terms of construction.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
