On November 23, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay another visit to Moscow, during which he will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated about this at Thursday’s weekly briefing.

"It is expected that the exchange of views on a number of current international issues will continue, including on the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] region," Zakharova added in particular.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
