Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France Jonathan Lacôte.

Batoyan presented the activities that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has carried out during the war and pinpointed the primary social needs in the situation that has been created.

“Next week, the ministry will launch the one-time financial assistance program for Armenians who have temporarily moved to Armenia from Artsakh. In addition, the ministry has developed an action plan for protection of the rights of persons who became disabled as a result of the war and their social inclusion,” Batoyan said.

Ambassador Lacôte expressed gratitude to the minister for organizing the meeting in this difficult period. “Once again, I would like to state that France stands with Armenia and the Armenian people. It’s clear that what is happening in Nagorno-Karabakh is having a direct impact on the population of Armenia. This is rather difficult for not only the government and particularly the ministry, but also average citizens who have hosted people who left their homes as a result of the hostilities. In this context, France will be providing humanitarian aid to Armenia and the Armenian people,” Lacôte said, adding that there will be short-term and long-term support programs.
