France is ready to provide its experience and assistance to UNESCO, with the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas, for the protection of the cultural and religious heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh ([Artsakh]) and its surroundings; French President Emmanuel Macron wrote about this on Twitter.
"The guns have fallen silent in Nagorno-Karabakh. We are now working for a heritage and cultural ceasefire, with Armenia, Azerbaijan, our partners in the [OSCE] Minsk Group, to preserve and restore the treasure of diversity and wealth of the whole region," Macron added.
On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities in and around Artsakh.
