Azerbaijan invited Turkey and mercenaries since Ilham Aliyev knew very well how horrible his army was from the perspective of corruption and combat readiness. This is what First Ombudsperson of Armenia, human rights activist Larisa Alaverdyan said during today’s press conference.
“Armenia also knew that Turkey was going to be involved in the war. One doesn’t need to be an intelligence expert to know this,” Alaverdyan said. In this regard, the Ombudswoman stressed that the majority in Armenia’s parliament and the head of government and ministers bear full responsibility for what happened.
Alaverdyan highly appreciated the work that the Ombudspersons of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia Artak Beglaryan and Arman Tatoyan did. “Their professionalism helped spark international response, but the political authorities didn’t even take advantage of this. Starting from late October, everyone probably started realizing that the news provided to the media was also wrong. This is a gross violation of human rights,” she said.
