An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred in Argentina, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

According to seismologists in Argentina, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.8 at a depth of 10 kilometers. In neighboring Chile, the magnitude was 6.4.

The earthquake was recorded at 2.46 UTC. The epicenter of the tremors was located 36 kilometers southwest in the province of San Juan.

No reports have been made on possible casualties and damage.
