With 67 affirmative votes, the US Senate has approved the nomination of Antony Blinken to the position of Secretary of State, meaning Blinken can be sworn in as the chief diplomat of the country.
Last week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s discussion on Blinken’s nomination went smoothly, and he was praised by both Democrats and Republicans.
