President of Russia Vladimir Putin says he hopes there won’t be a global conflict in the modern world since this would imply the end of civilization, RIA Novosti reported.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Putin stated that international institutions are becoming weak, regional conflicts are multiplying and the global security system is deteriorating in the world today.

“I hope a global and heated conflict like WWII will be impossible in principle. I really hope so because this would imply the end of civilization,” Putin said.
