A Turkish construction firm, which is known for its close ties with the Turkish government, is involved in the project for construction of a highway in Nagorno-Karabakh, Dunya reported.

The Kolin İnşaat construction firm plans to launch cooperation with an Azerbaijani company for construction of the Ahmedbeyli-Fizuli-Shushi highway. Construction of the four-route highway, which is split into five sectors and will pass through 20 settlements, will end in 2022.

Kolin İnşaat has established a construction site for construction in Azerbaijan.

Two months ago, Tekfen, another Turkish construction firm linked to the government, assumed construction of the new building of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Kolin İnşaat is one of the five Turkish conglomerates that has won large tenders over the past few years, and critics say this is due to the close ties with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the ruling Justice and Development Party.
