Leader of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Edmon Marukyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“It was the Armenian Army to which the heavy blow of the war was dealt. Armenian soldiers and officers did everything they could to defend the borders of the homeland. Besides the tremendous amount of casualties, an attempt was made to show that the army was fully responsible.

The self-dedicated efforts of our heroic boys and men only binds us Armenians to learn the lessons from the incompetent political governance. However, even when there are heavy losses and lack of political responsibility, nobody has annulled the truth that the Armenian Army is the guarantor of the existence of Armenia and Artsakh. The Armenian Army has been and will always be the guarantor, and I have no doubt that we Armenians will restore and rearm our armed forces and will do it with twice the care and diligence through combined efforts.
