YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: [Ex-President and former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) chairman] Serzh Sargsyan's decision whether or not to run in the [snap parliamentary] elections will be decisive for the opposition.
The RPA has kept its provincial offices and has a large layer of party members and supporters. Most importantly, a large number of representatives of the business world who control a considerable number of votes stand with the RPA, and in particular—with Serzh Sargsyan.
If Serzh Sargsyan decides not to run in the elections, where will those votes go? That is the question of the day. (…). And those votes are not few.
The opposition is facing this dilemma, but they hope that the RPA and its leader will not give such a gift to [PM] Nikol [Pashinyan], who handed over Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] to the enemy.
