The scholars have already expressed their position on the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of the Republic of Armenia; the Academy of Sciences had made a statement at the time. The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Radik Martirosyan, on Monday told this to reporters in the parliament.

He stressed that the number of people taking this matter to the streets is not an indicator of the phenomena, expressing a conviction that many who do not take to the streets stick to their position, and the latter can be expressed, for example, in the form of voting during elections.

According to him, the next Armenian authorities should be engaged in the development of science, education, and culture in the country. "They have to tell the truth. It is a shame when the leader of a country lies. It is necessary to analyze the events that took place during the last Karabakh [(Artsakh)] war. It should be done by specialists to find out what should have been done during the war, what was not done, including in Shushi [city]," Martirosyan said.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia added that the academy will soon make a statement on the Armenian heritage left in Karabakh.

To note, at the meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia on November 24, 2020, a statement was adopted demanding the resignation of the country’s government Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Pashinyan.
