I still don’t have any evidence that the lands in Nagorno-Karabakh are sold. This is what leader of the opposition Bright Armenia Party and its homonymous parliamentary faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Edmon Marukyan told reporters today.
According to him, he has no evidence or ground to draw conclusions and make statements on that. “I don’t have facts, and there can’t be doubts the people who came to power in Armenia were ready to sell the previously liberated lands. This is why I offered to set up a committee to lead a probe into this, but third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declined the offer,” Marukyan emphasized and stated that this concerns a charge of committing a particularly grave crime.
The deputy is also certain that there can’t be an alternative to the committee since there are too many issues to discuss. Moreover, he believes it’s not worth setting up such a committee in parliament since most of the members, including the chairman would be represented by the incumbent authorities.
