Police have started arresting citizens at Manezhnaya Square in central Moscow, RIA Novosti reports that at least three citizens have been arrested.

Security measures have been strengthened at the square following the calls for a non-agreed demonstration on social networks following the announcement of the decision on sentencing activist Alexei Navalny to three-and-a-half years in prison.

Police have demanded the closure of the entrances to and exits of Okhotny Ryad, Revolution Square and Aleksandrovsky Sahd stations until an executive order is issued. Trains aren’t stopping at stations.

Meduza reports that people are gathering at Mokhovaya Street in front of Manezhnaya Square. There is no slogan or poster. Several dozens of people are simply standing and following the power structures that have encircled the Square.
