President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has invited Italian companies to operate in occupied territories.
The President of Azerbajian presented this prospective idea during a meeting with the delegation led by President of Maire Tecnimont Group Fabrizio Di Amato, Turan reported.
“Italy and Azerbaijan are strategic partners. They have signed a document on strategic partnership, and the reality shows that we are strategic partners,” Aliyev said and voiced hope that Italian companies would be very active in the implementation of projects for restoration of the “liberated territories”. A few Italian companies have already been invited to be involved in restoration and construction works.
Although Azerbaijan is talking about Italian companies’ participation in the restoration of the “liberated” territories, it is clear that the country is talking about the occupied Armenian lands and first and foremost the Armenian city of Shushi, which is proclaimed “the cultural capital of Azerbaijan and the whole Turkic world”. Apparently, to erase the traces of Armenian cultural heritage, Aliyev has decided to engage foreign companies in these criminal and barbaric acts.
The relations between Azerbaijan and Italy are so deep that Italy is almost considered Azerbaijan’s strategic partner in Europe. In the not too distant past, Italy invited Azerbaijan to the G-20 summit, without being concerned about maintaining the principle of equality and inviting Armenia as well.
Of course, the Italian party stresses the political component of relations, and nevertheless, as Vladimir Lenin said, politics is a condensed manifestation of economy. In other words, Azerbaijan is simply buying Italy’s “friendship”. For instance, it sponsored excavations in Rome for EUR 1,000,000.
Of course, Italy has some benefits, but the descendants of Caesar and Cicerone need to be more orientated in “friendly” relations.
