Two 5.4 and 5.5 magnitude quakes have hit the Philippine islands of Luzon and Batanes, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.

According to him, the epicenter was located 125 km northeast of Luzon Island in the Zambales province. The focus was located at a depth of 40 km.

Nearly half an hour later, a second magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck another part of the Philippines. Its epicenter was 93 km northeast of Batanes Island. The focus was located at a depth of 14 km.

There is no tsunami threat, and no information has been received on the destructions.
