The delegation led by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Kazakhstan to attend the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on Feb. 5. As reported Armenpress, the members of the delegation are Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Ghevondyan, Deputy Economy Minister Varos Simonyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Ashot Muradyan and others.

On January 1, 2021, Kazakhstan assumed chairmanship within the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international organization for regional economic integration that is vested with international legal personality and established under the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

On September 3, 2013, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced the decision of Armenia to accede to the Customs Union, take necessary actions for this purpose and later to participate in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
