Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, has proposed to nominate the creators of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19 for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
"The creation of the Sputnik V vaccine is a landmark event. I propose to award the creators of the vaccine the State Prize on June 12 in the Kremlin. Also, [to] nominate [them] for the Nobel Prize in Medicine," Zhirinovsky tweeted.
