A Yerevan court on Monday acquitted the defendants—doctors Shushanik Bakhshyan and Ani Babelyan—in the case of mother-to-be Meri Margaryan and her newborn, both of whom had died in hospital in July 2015.
The presiding judge noted that the charges against the defendants were not substantiated in court.
This case was sent to court in 2016.
Bakhshyan and Babelyan had been charged.
Subsequently, Shushanik Bakhshyan was released on bail, and Ani Babelyan—on a signature bond not to leave Armenia.
