Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today chaired a consultation devoted to police reforms.

The Prime Minister said judicial-legal reforms are among the key objectives of the year and added that police reforms are also extremely important. “The establishment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is on the agenda, and the government will also start laying the foundation for Patrol Police in the country. The process has been launched, and today we need to discuss the pressing actions in this context,” he said.

Pashinyan was told about the activities completed for the establishment of the Patrol Service and provided with details about the educational course which was launched on January 18 and will last for five months. He was also told that the selected professors have undergone training.

The Prime Minister was also told about the new uniforms and new equipment in line with international standards, the acquisition of new cars and the works for ensuring the necessary building conditions.

The initial model of the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was also considered during the consultation.
