Baku will demand a price from Yerevan for every concession, including the return of prisoners of war. This is what political scientist Tevan Poghosyan told reporters today.
According to him, the last exchange of prisoners of war was possible either because the returned Azerbaijani was equal to five Armenian prisoners of war for Baku or because there is another reason.
The analyst stated that the public started discussing the situation around the Nerkin Khndzoresk village of Syunik Province a few days ago, but there were no talks recently. “I’m not saying the facts are mandatorily interconnected, but in any case, Baku will demand a price. To stop this, Armenia has to either take 400-500 Azerbaijani captives or achieve international sanctions so that Azerbaijan makes concessions,” Poghosyan added.
According to him, the Armenian authorities lost the public’s trust during the negotiations and the war and now through their actions, and what’s more, they don’t realize what their policy has led to and what kind of a legacy they are leaving for their successors.
