During today’s briefing, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said the German, Polish and Swedish diplomats expelled from Russia understood very well that they had violated the Russian legislation since the demonstrations that they attended were not agreed, RIA Novosti reported.

Zakharova said the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations contains a provision stating that “without prejudice to their privileges and immunities, it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities to respect the laws and regulations of the receiving State.” Zakharova also recalled that Russia had banned the holding of all public and massive events back in March 2020.
