During today’s briefing, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said the following when she was asked if works are being carried out for the return of the Azerbaijani population to Nagorno-Karabakh.

“As you know, according to point 7 of the statement by the leaders, this is a direct citation, and the refugees are returning to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories under the control of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Currently, we see a rather intensive process of return of Armenians who had recently left their homes due to the events that took place in the fall of last year. We proceed from the fact that the point stated in the trilateral statement concerns all those who were forced to leave their former places of residence.”
