YEREVAN. – The snap parliamentary elections will be held in June. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party and head of its faction in the National Assembly (NA), stated this Friday during the traditional briefings of the NA.

According to him, if the incumbent authorities really have the popularity rating they are announcing, then they were obliged to hold elections, and then everything would become clear.

"The snap elections were postponed, and I think they will be held in June. We will see that [popularity] rating in June. One thing is clear: The government does not have the chance to walk calmly on the street. It is not terror, but they ‘have no face [to show]’ because of the decisions they made. Is that your [popularity] rating? Enjoy it!," Marukyan said addressing the authorities, adding that the serving government has already become “former” in Armenia.

The MP noted that the authorities, however, do not yet realize the whole complexity of their situation.
