I just exited the building of the National Security Service which had summoned me to testify as a witness. This is what head of Adekvad Union Artur Danielyan posted on his Facebook page, adding the following:
“The National Security Service of Armenia wanted to receive my testimonies within the scope of the criminal case launched under an article of the Criminal Code under which deserters are sentenced. As far as I understood, the National Security Service isn’t charging me with being a deserter, but within the scope of the case, certain information stated in one of my video messages was presented as obtained evidence.
The criminal case was launched since the authorities have ordered law-enforcement authorities, that is, prosecutors and investigators to find the culprits of the capitulation and ‘throw the blame on someone’.
In one of my video messages, I stated that the members of Adekvad Union hadn’t escaped from Aghdam, which was being shelled, and it was because they were crazy — only a crazy person could wait under shelling without an armored vest, helmet and weapons. Consequently, the law-enforcement authorities will try to find those people who had sent our boys to the region being shelled without weapons and ammunition, and they might clarify it, but the reality is the opposite. In reality, I can’t state a pretension to the personnel of the fourth defense region in Askeran because the personnel performed their duties throughout the entire war, and this serves as a ground to state that the enemy wasn’t able to move forward even one millimeter in Askeran,” he stated.
