In an interview with Hraparak Armenian newspaper, leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan answered a question about the opposition not achieving its goals yet, stating that the goal is to save the country.
“We have gathered and hold discussions, and it’s not like we all agree on everything. Decisions are made by majority of votes. The question of our concern is the country’s salvation. If the government hasn’t done anything for the past three years, it must step down,” Tsarukyan said.
According to the opposition party leader, Nikol Pashinyan’s roadmap won’t change the course of action of the opposition.
“The government of national accord was possible after I made an announcement about the 100% resignation of the government in July. In that case, there wouldn’t be a war and casualties. The situation will worsen. The government hasn’t carried out any program over the past three months. Our people are hard-working people, and everything needs to be planned the right way. Armenia needs to restore its friendly ties with Russia through actions, not words. We Armenians saw that Russia is truly concerned about the Armenian people and has a heartfelt attitude towards them,” he stated.
