Thanks to the Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus, Russia is winning a geopolitical victory. This opinion was expressed by French geopolitician Pascal Boniface to Ouest-France newspaper, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, the search for a vaccine against COVID-19 has led to the emergence of "vaccine diplomacy," and Western countries are doing their best, whereas Moscow is achieving a geopolitical victory in this battle.
"When [Russian President Vladimir] Putin was introducing his vaccine, there was a lot of ridicule. Its name, Sputnik, gave the world the impression that the Soviet Union and its exaggerated strategy had returned. But that vaccine works," Boniface added.
