During talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on the latter to renounce the Russian S-400 missile systems.

Blinken underscored the importance of US-Turkey relations, the common interest in the fight against terrorism, as well as the importance of democratic institutions, inclusive governance and respect for human rights. The parties expressed commitment to strengthen cooperation and support a political solution to the Syrian conflict.

Blinken also expressed support to the initial talks between Turkey and Greece.
