President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today received UK Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas Wendy Morton.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the situation created after the war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and regional security and stability and considered the role of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group important for the ultimate and longstanding settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. President Sarkissian viewed humanitarian issues, as well as the speedy return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians by Azerbaijan as major issues. Sarkissian also touched upon the preservation of Armenian historical and cultural heritage in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan, as well as a number of issues that have emerged in the post-war period.

The interlocutors also talked about the coronavirus situation, the two countries’ cooperation for prevention of the spread of the coronavirus and viewed cooperation in the areas of information and high technologies, artificial intelligence, healthcare, science, education, energy and other sectors as prospective.
