Armenia’s Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Armenia Patrik Svensson, as reported the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to regional security. At the Swedish Ambassador’s request, the defense minister presented the situation created after the cessation of hostilities and the course of implementation of the agreements reached. Harutyunyan stressed the return of Armenian prisoners of war on the part of Azerbaijan and touched upon the peacekeeping mission in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the ensuring of security and humanitarian issues.

The interlocutors also discussed other issues related to the security environment in the region, the existing threats and expected developments.
