Georgian Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II held a meeting behind closed doors in Tbilisi.
Armenian and Georgian spiritual leaders agreed to start work to solve disputable issues, Georgia online reports.
Spiritual leaders discussed legal status of the Armenian and Georgian churches in both states.
Catholicos of All Armenians touched upon granting of legal status to the Armenian church in Georgia, while Ilia II spoke about return of Georgian churches.
Catholicos- Patriarch Ilia II said a scientific committee will be set up in Georgia to solve the problems adding that the Armenian side should also make such move.
In his turn Karekin II noted Georgian community has never been faced with problems on getting legal status in Armenia. He stressed that the issue on return of the Georgian churches will be considered.
