Armenia’s Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan today received Director General of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Alexey Melnikov.

Melnikov talked about the volumes of cargo transportation within the scope of military cooperation between Armenia and the Russian Federation and stated that the company provides services fully and according to the established procedure within the scope of the commitments that it has assumed.

Harutyunyan underscored the strategic significance of railway communication and the importance of cargo transportation.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed other issues on cooperation, including rearmament of certain infrastructures of the railway network for meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
