Armenia’s Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan today held a discussion meeting with World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge and other representatives of the WHO, as reported the Ministry of Health.

The parties discussed issues related to the improvement of rehabilitative services and mental health, the introduction of universal health insurance in Armenia and the improvement of access to medical services for the population.

“Armenia is a key partner for us, and we are ready to continue to work with the Ministry of Health and government. The main purpose of today’s meeting is to learn about your country’s needs and have the opportunity to focus on more necessary areas. The WHO also stands with Armenia in the efforts to obtain coronavirus vaccines and prevent improper use of antibiotics during treatment,” Kluge said.

“We are grateful for the partnership, particularly the tremendous support that the WHO provided during COVID-19. The specified sectors are the priorities of the Ministry of Health during COVID-19 and especially during the post-war period,” Avanesyan stated.
