Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan today held an online meeting with the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia, as reported Yerevan Municipality.
The parties discussed the course of implementation of programs being carried out in Yerevan through cooperation with EU structures and outlined the prospects for future development.
Marutyan presented the course of implementation of the “EU for Yerevan Solar Community” project, which is being implemented with the support of EU structures, as well as the programs for hazardous waste management, construction of the drainage tunnel of Yerevan Metro, lighting in the city, construction of kindergartens and more.
In his turn, Head of Unit for Armenia in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Vassilis Maragos stated that the EU is interested in the expansion of cooperation in several areas for the digitalization of community services and development of a ‘green’ economy in the city.
