Leader of Green Future environmental movement Vahagn Varagyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“I was at a café with my friends a little while ago. A confused man was in a dispute on the phone in such a way that one could definitely hear what he was talking about. Everyone in the café heard how he screamed into the phone the following: “Who cares if they have minor children and they can’t be deprived of liberty by law, they swore at the director of the National Security Service, they need to be sentenced, do whatever has to be done to sentence them.” My acquaintances sitting at the table next to me said the man is Chairperson of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction Artur Mkrtchyan. I found his photo on the Internet, and since I don’t believe in coincidences, it’s safe to assume that he was referring to the sentencing of four persons detained under the famous "case of a fake". It is safe to at least assume that the court chairperson was trying to give an order to the judge to sentence them at any cost. This is yet another argument that Ara Saghatelyan and Karen Bekaryan, who are well-known in public, are political prisoners.”
