The United States is interested in reaching an agreement with Iran, not escalating tensions, a US representative told Reuters on Monday evening, commenting on the Iranian leadership's statements about the possibility of enriching uranium to 60%.

According to the official, it will be very alarming if Iran reaches 60%, but this has not happened yet. 

The United States would like to find a way so that the parties do not feel the need for escalation, but, on the contrary, would return to agreement, the source noted.

The US representative does not see the need to focus on Tehran's statements about further building up its nuclear program. Until you return to negotiations, both sides are taking positions, increasing their rhetoric, he noted. 

Yesterday, the spiritual leader and leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, admitted the possibility that the Iranian side would enrich uranium to 60%.
